The test was conducted in a rural residential area in Wisconsin. The
site was predominately shaded, protected by wind, and surrounded by
wetland area. Background mosquito population was considered significant.
Each of the three Backyard AVENGER™ units was set up at a minimum distance of 24 inches from the exhaust/mosquito intake area of the Mosquito Magnet® Pro and 24 inches from each other. Each of the three Backyard AVENGER™units had a variation in design to evaluate a particular characteristic relative to mosquito killing effectiveness.
This particular trial ran from 8/28/02 through 8/31/02, operating 24 hours per day. The Backyard AVENGER units only had a lactic acid mixture in the evaporator container. Carbon Dioxide was not used on the Backyard AVENGER as it was being created by the Mosquito Magnet® Pro through the combustion of propane.
